Earlier this week the first trailer for Planet Earth 2 dropped and to say that I was ‘enthusiastic’ might be the understatement of the decade. I was a HUUUUGE fan of the first Planet Earth series from BBC that came out back when I was in college because 1) I prefer watching nature documentaries over any other type of TV show including HBO or Comedy Central (I know, it’s weird) and 2) Planet Earth is the single greatest TV series for stoners ever produced and in college I used to occasionally unwind by packing up the Roor (if you don’t know what that is just google it).
In the headline, I made the bold claim that the extended trailer for Planet Earth 2 is better than watching The Matrix on LSD. You might be wondering how I’m qualified to make a statement like that. And if you it’s because I’ve done exhaustive field research on this very topic during my days as a rowdy youth and I can tell you that the extended trailer for Planet Earth 2 is, in fact, a better experience than watching The Matrix on LSD sugar cubes.
Planet Earth 2 still doesn’t have an official release date but that won’t stop me from counting the months, weeks, days, hours, and seconds until this new series is beamed into my TV set via fiber optic cables.
