Ever since Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that he was making a Jumani movie many people, myself included, weren’t sure what to think.
My first thought, as was many other people’s, was, “Why?” As in, why remake a movie that was already good an featured beloved actor Robin Williams?
Johnson has done his best quell everyone’s concerns with the Instagram post above, saying that the film won’t be a “remake,” but rather a “continuation” of the story.
Mix that with an earlier Instagram post where “The Rock” said, among other things, “An important thing that I want to be honest and bring up is Robin Williams. The love and respect I have for this man is boundless. You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of “Alan Parrish” will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way. I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud.”
Still, people have their reservations, for obvious reasons.
Which leads us to a couple of new reveals Johnson shared this week on Instagram.
First, he shared concept art for what his character “Dr. Bravestone” will look like…
He says in the caption, “Concept art of my #JUMANJI character. “The Smoldering” Dr. Bravestone. (not sure where my pecs went;). This is gonna be fun.” (He does have a point, where are his pecs?)

And yes, this is the girl who is so bad ass she shaved her freaking head for Guardians of the Galaxy.
We start production next month in Hawaii and as many of you already know, this isn’t a remake or reboot, but a continuation of the awesome JUMANJI story we love.

So is this concept art and the cast of Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Nick Jonas and now Karen Gillan enough to pique your interest? Me? I’m still not sure what to think yet.
