First Trailer For Seth Rogen’s ‘Sausage Party’ Just Dropped, It’s A Mock Pixar Film

The first (red band) trailer for Sausage Party just dropped, a ‘mock Pixar film’ starring Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, Edward Norton, and Salma Hayek. Sausage Party is one of those films that was 100% born out of a 48-hour smoking session between Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg.

Sausage Party is also one of those films that only works when the red band trailer is released immediately, because without the best jokes hitting the scene first I’m not sure they’d be able to drum up too much interest in this flick. As it stands, I can’t fucking wait to see this because it looks like the perfect Summer comedy:

The basic premise is this: grocery store foods can talk and have emotions, and they think it’s a blessing to be chosen to leave the grocery store and move on to the next step in life. Once they discover that leaving the grocery leads to certain death all hell breaks looks, and the jokes begin to get raunchy and profane. This is the same writing crew that brought us This Is The End and The Interview.

With the latter I’m somewhat surprised Sony Pictures was still on board with the writing duo of Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, and have this film the green light after the PR crisis they had with North Korea threatening attack and the consequent hacking of Sony emails, which many think North Korea had a hand in. Anyways, I’m stoked to see the best team in comedy take on animation because Sausage Party looks like it’s going to be funny AF.
