You Can Buy Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber From ‘Star Wars’ And A Golden Ticket From ‘Willy Wonka’
You thought Luke Skywalker’s lightsaber ended in the hands of Rey after it was turned over to her from Maz Kanata? Think again. In fact, you can buy Luke Skywalker’s iconic lightsaber at an auction in this universe without murdering any Sith lords.
Without going to a galaxy, far, far away, you can own a piece of intergalactic legend. Luke Skywalker’s original Star Wars lightsaber is up for auction, and it is the exact movie prop that Obi-Wan Kenobi gave to Anakin Skywalker and to his son, where Luke Skywalker used in “A New Hope” and “The Empire Strike Back.” Apparently, you don’t even need a hand to use one of these amazing weapons.
Luke Skywalker’s iconic lightsaber is on auction from June 26-28 thanks to The Profile Hollywood Auction 89. For the past few decades, the legendary movie prop was held by producer Gary Kurtz. Auction experts expect Luke’s lightsaber to sell from anywhere from $150,000 – $250,000. The last time the special Luke Skywalker lightsaber prop was sold, it went for $240,000.
In addition to the “you’ll poke your eye out” lightsaber, the auction will also feature Bill Paxton’s armour from “Aliens” (estimated to sell for between $10,000 – $15,000 ); Charlie Bucket’s screen-used Golden Ticket from “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” (originally owned by director Mel Stuart and estimated to sell for $40,000 – S60,000); the screen-used Atlantean Sword from “Conan the Barbarian” (originally owned by director John Milius and estimated to sell for $40,000 – $US60,000); and Leonardo DiCaprio’s main, screen used-outfit from “Titanic” (which is estimated to sell for $100,000 – $150,000).
I hope your seemingly disabled uncle doesn’t steal all your wealth, chocolate, and fame from you.
