YES! ‘Stranger Things’ Is Renewed And Teaser Trailer Reveals Timeframe And Influences For Season Two

Netflix did not keep their curiosity door locked, the streaming service announced on Wednesday that there will indeed be a season two of Stranger Things. Everyone’s favorite 80s inspired TV show will be back in 2017.

Netflix unleashed a teaser trailer for the second season Stranger Things with the synthy opening song and the red letters slowly forming words, but it featured a lot of references from 1984, which apparently will be the timeframe the sequel. The trailer mentions MadMax, The Boy Who Came Back To Life, The Pumpkin Patch, The Pollywog, and The Secret Cabin. Interesting tidbit, movies that came out in 1984 include Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Gremlins.

This makes it one year after the first season. Maybe a year later, people will actually give a fuck that Barb is still missing. I’m looking at you Mrs. Holland.
