During tonight’s Academy Awards, Faye Dunaway announced that La La Land had won the Oscar for Best Picture.
About 10 minutes into La La Land‘s celebration, several members of the Academy rushed to the stage to announce that Beatty had read off the wrong name and that “Moonlight” was actually the Best Film.
According to Beatty he and Dunaway were given the wrong envelope by the Academy.
