Here’s What You Need To Know About HBO’s Thrilling New Sci-Fi Western Blockbuster ‘Westworld’
In late June, we told you HBO’s new show Westworld looked trippy and incredibly badass after watching the series teaser trailer. Now, we’ve created a video that digs in for more details on the sci-fi western thriller.
First off, I completely forgot this was based on the 1973 movie of the same name. The ’70s were all about messing with your mind, man. At least, that’s what Dad always said. Might have to Netflix that after growing out my sideburns and bush.
Second, remember Second Life? Or Surrogates with Bruce Willis? Or Avatar? Or The Sims? Westworld is basically all of those stuffed into one sick and twisted and super fun show. An adult amusement park where you can do whatever you want? A man can only get kicked out of Disney Land so many times before his lust for life discontinues.
Third, it’s created by Jonathan Nolan who was behind the Dark Knight trilogy, which brought Batman back to life on the big screen and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, who has a habit of rearranging brains with his productions. Also, it stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Thandie Newton.
Fourth, I loathe the fact we have to wait until October 2nd to see the first episode. I can’t handle the hype. Especially after HBO got me all gooshy over Vinyl then pulled the plug.
By the way, I’m pretty sure I’d last less than an hour in the Wild Wild West. Same for Game of Thrones. HBO understands my lack of survival skills and preys on my desire to live vicariously. Prey on, preyer.
