Someone took to Reddit to ask the film viewing community “What is the Worst Ending to a movie that you have seen?” then proceeded to cite Mr. & Mrs. Smith starring Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. While most didn’t really agree with the OP’s example, a flood of nominations rushed in.
I posed the question to the BroBible staff and here’s how we voted:
Lady In The Water
From Cass:
“I don’t know how it’s debatable… and like, the entire f*cking movie built up to that and said all of that was going to happen…but it was M Nas Shamalamadingdong and you expected a twist…but no, some fairy sh*t happened and a dude that jacks off too much and has a big arm punched something.”

Point Break (2015 remake)
From Covucci: “God awful ending”
Here’s what Reddit voted for:

That’s cold-blooded. Especially since the website isn’t even live anymore.
War of the Worlds (2005)
That son just showed up like, Hey, what’s up, everybody! like he was fashionably late to a party. Not even Morgan Freeman’s majestic voice can save that conclusion.
I Am Legend
I was hooked on this movie for a solid year, year and a half, but that ending… woof. Going with the alternate ending or the book’s ending seems to be the way to go. The CGI zombie creatures didn’t help matters either.
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Like opening up an old wound.
Planet of the Apes (2001 remake)

I saw this in the theater and I think I might’ve apologized to my date.

Never seen this and I don’t think I ever will.

I remember turning to my dad after the 15th logical exit point and being like, “We might not ever see the end of this movie”.
Next
I can only imagine the people who come up with and fund this sort of ending are masochists. Like former waterboarders.
The Signal
Knowing
Nic Cage knows how to f*ck us over.
Skyline
So bad, it’s good? People actually want a sequel. What’s wrong with you?
Now You See Me
This one legit had me reliving every single regret in my life. Like, pacing the living room, holding on to my head like it might fall off. Trying to devise a plan for getting back the time spent watching this.
Sunshine

Some say beautiful. Others say absurd twist that was a big middle finger to audiences everywhere.
So, what do you think?
