Rapper Chief Keef Is Being Sued By a Middle School Student for Child Support

Via TMZ:

The girl filed the petition for child support in Chicago, claiming Keef — real name Keith Cozart — fathered a baby daughter with her back in 2011.

The girl's exact age is unclear, but according to the docs, she currently attends a Chicago middle school — meaning she was .. at MOST … in 8th grade when she conceived the child, but could have been in 6th grade.

Cozart — who has since worked with Kanye West, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross — was 15 at the time.

In Illinois, it is considered a misdemeanor for two people under the age of 17 to have sex … even if they're in a consensual relationship. When both parties are between 9 and 17 years old, the older person commits a crime called “criminal sexual abuse.”

Punishment for the crime includes a max sentence of one year in jail … and a requirement to register as a sex offender for ten years — but in reality, these cases are almost never prosecuted.

Just another thing to add to list of bad things happening to Keef. His tour was dropped in December, with Interscope citing poor ticket sales. His album “Finally Rich” was well-recieved in December, but And all of this happens right after he was sentences to 60 days in juvie for violating probation by visiting a gun range. Via MTV News:

On Thursday Keef was sentenced to 60 days in juvie after a judge ruled that the Pitchfork.com interview in which the rapper handle a firearm at a gun range was a direct violation of the probation he was handed after pointing a gun at a police officer in 2012. According to many reports, a teary-eyed Keef tried to make a plea to the judge. “I am a very good-hearted person,” he is reported as saying. “I am sorry for anything that I have done wrong. … Give me a chance.”

I'm no expert, but this sounds like a horrible way to start out a career, even with a million-dollar record deal. Dude, get your life together.
