Not going to lie, I think GRiZ — who I’ll self-anointed right now as the Prince of Future Funk — is one of the coolest things currently happening in the music scene right now. Maybe it’s just because I’m a sucker for his brand of Pretty Lights/Gramtik-esque electro-funk, maybe it’s because I’m bored with a lot of the stuff going on in other genres that usually have my attention. His album is set to drop this spring and he just announced that he’s slated to play Red Rocks in the summer, following a massive national tour this spring. I’m stoked to check him out for the first time at Terminal 5 when he rolls through town.
He just dropped this song called “The Anthem” and it’s just as funky as his slate of recent releases. It’ll make you dance like a sorority girl who just hit Gold status at Starbucks with a $50 gift card.
