Things got testy at the BET Awards this weekend when Joe Budden dropped his mic and walked away during an interview with Georgia-based rap group, Migos.
Budden was irked at the sass of Migos member Takeoff when asked about his limited role in the group’s biggest hit, Bad And Boujee. The song is carried by Quavo and Offset, and Takeoff is reduced to lurking in the background and mumbling a couple times. It’s hilarious to see.
DJ Akademiks asked Takeoff about his role on their smash hit single, saying “I feel like that’s a running joke … with you being left off ‘Bad and Boujee.” Takeoff did not take too kindly to this slight, replying “I ain’t left off ‘Bad and Boujee.’ You think I left off ‘Bad and Boujee.” Akademiks didn’t hear Takeoff’s response over the commotion in the room and asked himself to repeat his rely three times, only inflating the awkwardness.
The tense exchange irritated Joe Budden, who asked DJ Akademiks to wrap the interview up, before dropping his mic and walking offstage. All three members of amigos then puffed out their chests and confronted Budden before being restrained by security.
Since the altercation, Twitter trolls have been ripping Budden for being ‘childish.’ He has made his views clear.
