Above is the complete Fecal Matter demo for “Illiteracy Will Prevail,” an album title that looks more and more like something that might, one day, come true. So good on you Kurt Cobain, for realizing that society was going to go much further into the shitter as the years went on.
Speaking of shitter, let’s talk about Fecal Matter! I know these are just demos and not polished recordings, but I’m more partial to Cobain’s output with Nirvana. All of these songs all sound the same to my unsophisticated ears. And Kurt’s voice sounds like he just smoked a carton of Marlboros.
I don’t know. Maybe this Fecal Matter shit is genius. Maybe I am unable to see that genius? Maybe I am too firmly planted on Team Pearl Jam to be objective? Naw, I’m right. This sucks. Or at least it sucks to me. And that’s all that matters.
