Kanye West Said He’s The Biggest Rock Star In The World, So Pete Townshend From ‘The Who’ Put Him In His Place

Kanye West is a clown. He headlined UK’s Glastonbury festival on Saturday night, getting trolled in an all-too perfect way. He also made the claim that he was the biggest rockstar in the world, which may have been a reaction to a Change.org petition to get an actual rock band to headline Glatonbury instead of Kim Kardashian’s husband.

Here’s how humble Kanye was on stage:

“I’m going to say this tonight because 20 years from now, 30 years from now, 40 years from now, I might not be able to say it, but I can say it tonight….You are now watching the greatest living rock star on the planet,” he yelled from the stage.

Humility — Kanye’s strong suit. He also launched into covered “Bohemian Rhapsody” and, well… It sucked.

This sets the stage for The Who closing out the festival on Sunday night. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey might be old dudes now, but back in the day there was no denying they were — in fact — the biggest rock stars in the world. So Townshend took the mic and threw serious shade at West:

“We’re going to send you home now with a rebellious, ‘Oh yeah, who’s the biggest rock star in the world.'”

It is PERFECT. Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it, Kanye.
