Bob Dylan’s Heaven’s Door Spirits announced the inaugural release of The Bootleg Series. The first expression sounds out of this f’n world good. I have a sample on my home bar waiting to be tasted just as soon as I kick this cold so I’ll definitely report back on that once I regain my tastebuds.
The limited-edition Bootleg Series features ‘a rare 26-year old whisky finished in Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels’ that’s being dubbed as Volume 1. Each of the handmade ceramic bottles will feature artwork from one of Dylan’s best-known paintings, Train Tracks, and the bottle will come housed in a gorgeous protective leather case. Bottled at 111.5-proof, the ‘signature flavors from the Mizunara Oak barrels’ are able to shine through due to the low Rye mashbill. It carries complex notes of coconut, incense, and coriander with a smooth, long finish that’s often characteristic of Japanese whiskeys.
