Faherty Brand
The Faherty Brand is not only one of my favorite brands it also has a pretty dope origin story. This New York-based brand can best be described as a ‘Surf Hippie’ lifestyle which just so happens to align with yours truly, and for several years I lived directly across the street from their SoHo store on Thompson Street and would walk past their window display every morning on my way to the BroBible office.
The Faherty Brand was founded by twin brothers Mike and Alex Faherty with the mission of creating the absolutely perfect board short. Mike Faherty had spent 7 years working at Ralph Lauren while his twin brother and co-founder Alex Faherty was working in investment banking/private equity.
Combined, they had the moving parts to launch a sick American surf style company and that’s exactly what they did back in 2013. Today, the Faherty Brand has seven stores across the USA including locations New York, Boston, Nantucket, and Southern California.
