Break Up The Festive Fluff This December With Plex’s ‘Not-So-Silent Night’ Collection

Plex Not-So-Silent Night Collection

Plex

The holidays are great, but sometimes you need a break from the never-ending reindeer, snowmen, and star-crossed lovers finding each other right before Christmas. You need some explosions, broken bones, and gruff dudes with big guns and bad attitudes. You need Plex’s “Not-So-Silent” collection this December. The best part? It’s all free to watch.

PLEX NOT-SO-SILENT NIGHT COLLECTION

Here are some of our personal favorites from the collection that you can watch free on Plex this month:

Killing Them Softly (2012)

This movie is our reminder that Brad Pitt could have been a perfectly viable action star. Instead, he decided to win Oscars and be one of the best-looking men on the planet. How selfish. I can’t believe that more people don’t know/like this movie, especially with so many familiar faces from The Sopranos and other gangster flicks (Liotta, Gandolfini, Vincent Curatola, etc.).

Righteous Kill (2008)

De Niro and Pacino. What’s it about? Doesn’t matter, it’s De Niro and Pacino. Can they do something together that doesn’t involve organized crime and/or law enforcement? Don’t be so particular, it’s De Niro and Pacino. Years from now, you’ll be mourning the passing of these legends and wishing that you had more movies like Righteous Kill.

Margin Call (2011)

Everyone loves The Big Short (and rightfully so), but never forget that Margin Call nailed telling the story of the late 2000s financial crisis first. Oh my goodness, the cast: Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto, Demi Moore, Stanley Tucci…it’s almost unfair. Can we get a second coming of Demi Moore as an A-list star? Hollywood did her dirty for no reason.

It Comes At Night (2017)

Feels even scarier to watch post-COVID. A family quarantining in the woods as the world is ravaged by a deadly disease takes in another family looking for shelter. Paranoia ensues, and things go off the rails fast. I’m sure we can all relate to the tension that came with our quarantine period and be grateful that things didn’t get as bad as they do in this movie.

Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead (2007)

Watch "Before The Devil Knows You're Dead" on Plex this month

The last great movie from Sidney Lumet after an illustrious directing career that includes NetworkDog Day Afternoon, and The Wiz (what a collection). Two brothers (Ethan Hawke and Phillip Seymour Hoffman) in dire financial situations attempt to rob their own parents’ jewelry store. Suffice it to say, it doesn’t go well.
