If you live under a rock: An alleged Chinese weather balloon was spotted in skies above Montana on Wednesday afternoon. It was quickly suspected as a spy balloon, prompting questions about why it wasn’t shot down. It continued its journey in the skies across the continental United States.
On Saturday, President Biden said: “On Wednesday, when I was briefed on the balloon, I ordered the Pentagon to shoot it down on Wednesday as soon as possible. They decided without doing damage to anyone on the ground,” the president said Saturday.”
When it reached the Atlantic Coast on Saturday afternoon, off the shores of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it was shot down by U.S. fighter jets.
