Everyone else has been casually drinking their way through various distillery’s collections during this time of isolation, right? I’m not alone? I wanted to show you guys the slate of Old Forester Whiskeys that I started sampling recently.
I’ll be honest, tasting this much whiskey is hard work but someone has to do it and I’m willing to fall on that sword for you gentlemen. Each of these whiskey and bourbon expressions you see here is available for purchase online at Drizly, you just need to follow the link below and see if that particular bottle is available in your area.
From left to right, the first bottle is the Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Bourbon which won a gold medal at the 2019 Whiskies of the World competition. It carries a balanced flavor of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and citrus.
The 1897 Bottled in Bond Bourbon captured a Silver Medal at the prestigious 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This has a finish of spice, caramel, deep fruit, and vanilla that lingers in a way that you never want to end. The 1910 Old Fine Whisky is a bonafide top-shelf award-winning expression. It has a nose of sticky toffee, apricot, and cedar with milk chocolate and oatmeal raising cookie notes on the tongue.
The Old Forester 86 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is an exquisite entry-level bourbon that punches way above that price but I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Old Forester Rye 100-Proof for mixing up Boulevardier cocktails.
