Obey x Pacifico Collab
The ocean shouldn’t be an afterthought – it’s the lungs of the planet, producing over half the world’s oxygen. It’s home to some of the natural world’s most complex and elegant creatures, from sharks to dolphins to the Whitemargin Stargazer.
It’s also our planet’s circulatory system, regulating the weather patterns that keep our third rock from the sun a relatively pleasant place to call home.
Living up to their namesake, Pacifico Beer built out a street mural in Venice Beach with Studio Number One, a creative agency founded by street artist and skateboarder Shepard and Amanda Fairey. The goal is to raise awareness about protecting the planet’s oceans – It’s a sad reality that far too many beaches these days are trashed with plastic and other general litter these days, compromising complex ecosystems that give our seas so much life.
The mural – printed on the back of the t-shirt above – is the focus of a new capsule collection between Pacifico X OBEY Clothing, sales of which support the non-profit Surfrider Foundation’s efforts to clean up and protect the world’s ocean, waves, and beaches for all.
The capsule includes a sustainable t-shirt, a reusable tote bag, and an art print. The mural’s colors are a nod to the signature Pacifico colors, complete with a surfer getting barrelled in front of an iconic West Coast ocean sunset.
