Coldfoot Whisky by Westland Distillery x Filson

The C.C. Filson Company has teamed up with Westland Distillery to release the limited-edition ‘Coldfoot’ whiskey which is meant to capture the spirit of the late 1800s Klondike Gold Rush. Filson and Westland are both in Seattle which was once the jumping-off point for expeditions heading north with Gold Fever. According to the story, of the 2,000 ‘green hands’ that set out to Camp Coldfoot only 200 made it there and this name’s meant to signify taking the tougher and wilder path to greatness.
This is the first release and it was stored in 1st FIll Ex-Bourbon, New American Oak barrels. Coldfoot was matured (in cask) for 60 months and carries tasting notes of dried apple slices, walnuts, waffle cone, dried blueberry, cacao, marble rye, and espresso. Only 978 bottles are available so if you’re interested you’ll 100% want to get moving fast to track it down before it’s gone. I’ve been trying to experiment with as many new hot sauces as possible lately and that quest has brought me to the Bushwick Sauce Company. Their Ghost Pepper Tequila Lavender hot sauce is divine. It’s classified as a ‘medium strength’ hot sauce which is pretty subjective to a lot of people but I think it has the perfect amount of kick.
This hot sauce is handmade in Brooklyn using ingredients that have been sourced from the Buschwick Sauce Company’s four partner farms throughout the Northeast. It’s hard to find a hot sauce fresher than this that wasn’t made at home.
