The second whiskey release of 2022 from Blue Run Spirits just hit shelves and Blue Run’s “Reflection I” is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon that has blown my socks off. I’ve been a big fan of Blue Run since day 1 and I like to tell my friends/drinking circle that they never miss with their releases. That said, this one is phenomenal and definitely worth tracking down.
Reflection I was contract distilled at Castle & Key Distillery in 2018 by Bourbon Hall of Fame member Jim Rutledge and bottled at 95-proof. For anyone out there who thinks that’s not enough heat just trust me and give this a try. It’s bursting with flavors. You’ll find “fluffy pancakes and maple syrup” up front, rosemary on the tongue, and a rich dose of nutmeg on the finish.
