Every so often a whiskey comes along that’s so exquisite it’s hard to know where to begin describing it other than saying ‘if you can afford it, buy it.’ The Boss Hog is an annual release from Whistle Pig that’s said to embody their quest to create the finest (and most interesting) Rye Whiskey on the planet and I can now say for certain that Boss Hog VII: Magellan’s Atlantic is the most exquisite Rye I’ve ever sampled. I’ll be publishing my annual list of the year’s best whiskey soon and you can be sure this will be at or near the top.
The quick facts on this rare and fine spirit are it’s a Straight Rye Whiskey aged 17 years in American Oak before moving to untameable Spanish staves whose rare oak gives it rich cinnamon and allspice and then it moves to South American teakwood for an added layer of spice and caramel. Philips Hue Play Light Bar

So, here’s where we’re at: I’m now a Philips Hue stan and I’m having trouble remembering what my TV life was like before I got the Play Light Bar Double Pack. I’ve known about Philips Hue for years but hadn’t tested the waters yet. My home theater came with strip lighting already installed. But then I got the Play Light Bar Double Pack and became an instant believer in how awesome this is.
For starters, it was incredibly easy to install. I was up and running within minutes. The idea of controlling lights on an app didn’t appeal to me much until I realized how extensive the functionality was. As I was scrolling through Hue Labs on the app I found a setting that syncs up my TV’s lights with my team’s colors on game day. Then there was a Halloween setting that made the lights bounce around all spooky-like. You can set schedules so the lights gradually and softly come up in the morning as you wake up and come on in the evenings. George Dickel Tennessee Whisky has been a favorite of mine years and years before I ever even took my first sip.
