Laws Whiskey House
I was recently turned onto Laws Whiskey House, a Colorado-based distillery that everyone needs to know about. I got a sampler pack which includes their Four Grain Straight Bourbon, San Luis Valley Straight Rye, and Bonded Batches of both those whiskeys.
The San Luis Valley Straight Rye Whiskey Bonded Batch is Colorado’s first rye whiskey to meet the high standards of the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897. To be labeled as ‘Bottled in Bond’, a spirit ‘must be the product of one distillation season (January–June or July–December) by one distiller at one distillery.’ It must also be aged in a federally bonded warehouse (under supervision) for at least 4 years and bottled at a minimum of 100-proof (50% ABV).
Their San Luis Valley Straight Rye Whiskey BiB is aged 6+ years in 53-gallon charred oak barrels and has notes of mint, orange tea, sea salt, and a smooth finish of tobacco. Carhartt x Guinness Heritage Collection

Guinness has been a favorite beer of mine since my first sip and I’ve been fascinated by the history of Guinness long before I got to visit the brewery’s archives a few Winters ago and check out some of their oldest artifacts with a Guinness historian. This Heritage Collection is a collaboration between Guinness and Carhartt that features historic logos from those same Guinness archives in Dublin.
The collection includes men’s and women’s clothing, shirts and hoodies, beanies and more. All featuring Guinness designs you might not have seen before unless, like me, you’ve made it into the vault at St. James Gate Brewery in Dublin. ‘Ember Mug’ Smart Coffee Mug
