I love Christmas. If you don’t love Christmas, you’re entitled to your opinion, but you’re wrong. My theory is that you simply haven’t watched enough Christmas movies. Plex can help you with that with a flick from their festively curated “Merrython” collection. You’re sure to find one that you’ll enjoy watching while you ignore your weird relatives at the next family gathering.

Here are some of our personal favorite Christmas movies that you can watch free on Plex this month:
“Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings.” Every time I hear that line, I know that it’s Christmas time. Jimmy Stewart is my personal favorite classic movie actor (my wife prefers Cary Grant), so it’s a no-brainer to watch this one every holiday season. Favorite parody of this movie? The Beavis and Butt-Head Christmas episode. Almost as good as the movie. ALMOST.

I’ll Be Home for Christmas (2016)
There’s nothing quite like a Hallmark movie marathon while hanging out by the glow of the Christmas tree, is there? If that’s your flavor this fest time of year, this movie is a heartwarming Hallmark classic. It’s the story of a family reconciliation, featuring Jackie Foster, a hardworking and dedicated Assistant District Attorney and single mother, who rekindles her relationship with her estranged father, Jack, a retired police officer. Their reunion is a Christmas journey of family healing, forgiveness, and togetherness.
Don’t confuse this with the ’90s movie of the same name featuring Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Jessica Biel as his girlfriend. It’s the perfect flick for getting in the holiday spirit.

There are a lot of versions of this movie to choose from (even The Muppets did it!). Why not keep it simple and go with the George C. Scott version? He made a career out of playing curmudgeons. Casting him as Ebenezer Scrooge feels like typecasting. Whatever version of this Dickens tale that you prefer, you can’t watch this one and tell me it doesn’t hit the hammer right on the nail.

In case you needed to feel a little spooked amidst all the sugarplums and gingerbread houses. The wild thing about this movie is that there are no monsters or supernatural events; just a crazy 12-year-old boy in love with his babysitter who takes things WAY too far to try to impress her. Definitely not what I was expecting when I started watching, but ended up being pretty suspenseful and entertaining.

Santa Claus Conquers The Martians (1964)
You read that right. This cheese-fest is exclusively for those of us who can’t resist the campy excess of B-movies from the 1950s and 60s. Don’t let its consistent place on “worst movies” lists scare you; it’s absolutely awesome. Fun fact: this was the first instance of Mrs. Claus as a character in a Christmas movie or TV show.
