Is Eiza Gonzalez Going To Be The New Catwoman? ‘Gotham City Sirens’ Director Stokes The Rumors

See that picture up there of Baby Driver and From Dusk till Dawn actress Eiza Gonzalez? It is one piece in the puzzle of speculation that is gaining steam about her playing Catwoman in the upcoming DCEU film Gotham City Sirens starring Margot Robbie once again as Harley Quinn.

We’ve already seen rumors of Megan Fox possibly playing Poison Ivy, but that was probably more wishful thinking than anything.

Rumors about the casting of Batgirl have also been running rampant with names like Elle Fanning, Olivia Cooke, Bella Throne, Katherine Langford and Jane Levy, among others being mentioned for the lead role in that DCEU film as well.

Neither of those seem to hold as much credence as this one about Eiza Gonzalez, however.

The rumors about Gonzalez and the role of Catwoman have been around since June of this year when DC honcho Geoff Johns followed her on Twitter and was reinforced by an Instagram story she posted shortly thereafter.

As for the photo at the top of the page, it added to fans’ evidence linking Gonzalez to the role of Catwoman because of the fact that she chopped her hair into a more Selina Kyle-style cut and she was recently followed on Twitter by Gotham City Sirens director David Ayer as well as other DCEU stars Joe Manganiello and Clay Enos.

Add all that to the fact that she’s an up-and-coming star and at 27-years-old would work perfectly as a villainous cohort of the 26-year-old Robbie.

Whether any of this speculation turns out to be anything more than just that remains to be seen, but DC could definitely do worse than to choose Gonzalez for the role, that’s for sure.
