The fact that a 23-year-old girl is getting paid up to $1,000 per day to model lingerie is in no way shocking. However, once you take into consideration that 23-year-old Kanya Sesser (lives in L.A.) was born without legs and then abandoned by her parents at a Buddhist temple in Thailand when she was just a one week old baby, and then managed to absolutely beast her way through life (she surfs, she skis, she models underwear) this story becomes pretty damn remarkable. The fact that she’s persevered through so much adversity in life, from birth on through to where she is today, this makes her a complete badass in my book. Lesser people would succumb to the shitty hand life had dealt her early on, but not Kanya Sesser.https://www.instagram.com/p/63IK1rDQ0z/
The model, who was abandoned on the steps of a Buddhist temple in Thailand when she was just one week old and brought to Portland, Oregon at age five by her adoptive parents, is hoping to use her career to show that different is sexy.
Kanya shared: ‘It’s something fun and it shows my story – I’m different and that is sexy. I don’t need legs to feel sexy.’
After beginning her modelling career at age 15 by posing for a number of sports brands, including Billabong, Kanya was then scouted by underwear brands.
She revealed: ‘I enjoy making money from it and I love showing people what beauty can look like.’
‘These images show my strength,’ Kanya said of her modelling shots, which show her posing in lace thongs and bras in range of seductive positions.
The inspiring beauty, who loves extreme sports and hopes to compete in mono-ski competition at the 2018 Winter Paralympics South Korea, said she never intended to be a model, but ‘it just happened’ for her.
‘I like expressing myself in a different way than people usually see,’ she shared, adding: ‘This is just who I am.’
I just cannot express how much respect I’ve got for her, I’m not sure I’d be able to make as far in life as she has if I’d been abandoned at 1 week old by my parents (and born without legs). This is quite possible the most ‘feel good’ story I’ve came across this week. But I guess people tend to find inspiration in the darkest of places and this story is no exception. I HIGHLY SUGGEST all you bros go follow Kanya Sesser on her Instagram (above), because she’s an inspiration to everyone around her. Don’t believe me? Just watch this video on her life:
