Selena Gomez Discussed Her Trip To Rehab, And, Oh Yeah, Slayed In Some Sexy Bikinis

Selena Gomez has been a lot quieter the past six months or so than she used to be. Heck, for three months between August 15th and November 12th last year we didn’t write a single word about her.

She was definitely back in January though, dropping a photo of herself wearing nothing but a pair of earrings and a thong.

Then she followed that up by wearing a sexy outfit to promote the new show she’s producing for Netflix.

But other than those two sightings and some talk about her hooking up with The Weeknd, she’s been pretty much on the down low.

Part of the reason she vanished and has been quieter is that she spent some time repairing her mental health which she talked about in the article accompanying these pics for Vogue.

She sees her shrink five days a week and has become a passionate advocate of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a technique developed to treat borderline personality disorder that is now used more broadly, with its emphasis on improving communication, regulating emotions, and incorporating mindfulness practices. “DBT has completely changed my life,” she says. “I wish more people would talk about therapy. We girls, we’re taught to be almost too resilient, to be strong and sexy and cool and laid-back, the girl who’s down. We also need to feel allowed to fall apart.”

And as for why she’s been a lot more subdued these days on Instagram?

“As soon as I became the most followed person on Instagram, I sort of freaked out. It had become so consuming to me. It’s what I woke up to and went to sleep to. I was an addict, and it felt like I was seeing things I didn’t want to see, like it was putting things in my head that I didn’t want to care about. I always end up feeling like sh-t when I look at Instagram. Which is why I’m kind of under the radar, ghosting it a bit.”

Totally get it. Almost no one follows me and I can hardly stand it. Social media will be the death of us all one day, you watch.

These new pictures of Selena, however, will not. They give us life.

And here are a couple of bonus shots Selena took for the Australian version of Vogue, because why not?
