First ‘CBGB’ trailer brings punk back

You can almost smell the scent of vomit and urine from the stage. Yes, the glory days of punk rock are long behind us, but Randall Miller’s upcoming CBGB will educate all of these young whipper-snappers on how things used to be. Starring Alan Rickman as club owner Hilly Krystal, the man who turned a tiny storefront on the Bowery into the most important music venue in New York, the flick promises tales of rock and roll legends like the Ramones, Iggy Pop and the Velvet Underground. CBGB opens later this fall, and here’s the first trailer.
