Poor Liza Minnelli. She didn’t have such a good night at the 2014 Academy Awards.
First, Ellen absolutely demolished her in the opening monologue by calling her a “Liza impersonator” and then the comedian continued to crack wise about her throughout the night.
None of that compares to the heartbreaking photo above, tweeted out by someone in the upper deck of the Dolby Theatre.
Imagine actually being in the most famous celebrity selfie photo of all time but no one can actually SEE you in that photo. Look at Minnelli grabbing, clawing, trying desperately to get everyone to…I don’t know…bow down so she can be in the shot? I’m not sure what she was expecting to happen. I’ll bet the skin on Julia Roberts’ tricep got the worst of it all.
Now Liza knows how Peter Dinklage feels.
