McDonald’s of China has introduced one of the greatest fast food burgers in recent memory, the Sausage Double Beef Burger. It’s exactly what it sounds like. You get two sausages and two beef patties on a pretzel roll.
We like to mock ourselves as Americans for being fat, but the most ridiculous fast-food products always seem to come from abroad. Just look to America’s hat, and you’ll find double Big Macs on the menu. Now China rolls into the game by putting sausage on top of a burger. They should have butterflied them, put one on each side, and skipped the bun. It would just like KFC’s delicious Double Down. Speaking of which, does anyone know if that still exists? My arteries are feeling a little too strong.
As absurd as it sounds, I’ve actually had the equivalent of the Sausage Double Beef Burger. At the United Center, home of the Chicago Blackhawks and Bulls, there is a restaurant named “Madhouse on Madison.” They serve the “Madhouse Burger, which is very similar. It’s one hamburger patty, cheese, and a butterflied Polish sausage all on a pretzel roll. The meat isn’t McDonald’s sized though, so the Madhouse’s single is the same as McD’s double. Trust me, you feel like an animal after eating it. I was willing to jump on the ice and get pummeled just to get a little exercise.
