‘Sports Song’ is a gentle and eloquent reminder from Weird Al that your favorite team blows

New day, new Weird Al video.

It’s the last of the five videos released this week off Al’s new album Mandatory Fun. Monday gave us Tacky, Tuesday was Word Crimes, Foils followed on Wednesday and yesterday Weird Al got Handy. Today, Weird Al reminds the world that, no matter what, their favorite team sucks.

If you’re wondering if the five releases in one week strategy is working — um, yup.

Two artists are vying for their first No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, as both Jason Mraz and “Weird Al” Yankovic are aiming for the top slot next week. Industry forecasters project Mraz’s “Yes!” and Yankovic’s “Mandatory Fun” to each sell around 70,000 to 75,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, July 20. Both albums were released on July 15.

It goes without saying which horse we’re backing in that race. Want to buy the album? Go for it!
