The weird tale of Tim Lambesis, lead singer of As I Lay Dying, and his plot to kill his wife has come to a close.
Lambesis was sentenced to six years for accidentally hiring an undercover sheriff officer to kill his estranged wife. The lead singer of the heavy metal Christian rock band, Lambesis said his wife had “limited his access to their children, and he was concerned she would get an unfairly large portion of his income in their impending divorce settlement.”
Lambesis attorney argued he wasn’t in the right state of mind when he hired the fake hit man. He was depressed because of the failed marriage and not seeing his kids. Oh, and the ‘roids. Steroids? Is there a ton of pressure to live up to the expectations of a Christian rock front man? “I’ve got to be as ripped as Christ!”
Tim Lambesis pleaded guilty in February to the charges. His wife said during testimony “I had no idea who I was living with.”
