The University of California, Davis offers multiple courses in brewing science, including a Masters. This video shows the tip the iceberg of what you could be learning in school. It’s like a brewery tour from your couch!
And with that I’m considering moving to California to get a degree in brewing. The descriptions of classes do have that 3am criminal justice career feel to them though. “This program will prepare you for the IBD Diploma in Brewing Exam and high-level employment in the brewing industry.” I think I’d rather just learn hands-on from one of the nearly 3,000 breweries in America. I’m sure there is someone out there willing to employ me.
