Like most of you, I’m so sick of The Kardashians. Every hour of every single day there’s a post towards the top of my Facebook newsfeed about some Kardashians (Khole? Kourtney? Kim? The Jenner sisters?) doing something stupid for attention. There are more important things to give a shit about in the world than anything that family is doing. Yet there’s an entire publishing industry that constantly posts about their fame because it’s cheap and easy blog fodder.
The only redeeming thing about The Kardashian celebrity industrial complex is Scott Disick a.k.a. The Lord, who parties like an absolute animal.
A few genius web developers are trying to make the Internet a safer place for people who hate the Kardashians like you and me (and less safe for, errrrrrrrhm…. the many websites out there that try to get traffic by milking the 24/7 Kardashian news machine). The product supposedly in development is called “Kard Block” and it aspires to filter all Kardashian-related news from your Internet browsing experience.
Here’s the mission statement, straight from the Kard Block website:
We’re tired of logging on to any site and seeing stories of the Kardashian family overshadow REAL news.
So… we’re creating an AdBlock version of the Kardashians, the #KardBlock.
We don’t care about how Kanye & Kim didn’t care when Amy Schumer ‘fell over’.
We don’t care about who the Kardashians are or aren’t sleeping with.
We don’t care that Kim dyed her hair blonde.
We don’t care about the Kardashians.
We do however care about raising awareness of transexuality, the one benefit of the Kardashians.
We do care about raising attention and money for the thousands that died in Nepal.
We do care about the tens of thousands being slaughtered by ISIS.
We care that other people care more about, or know more about the Kardashians than these issues.
What Does KardBlock Do?
If there’s anything on your newsfeed, the website you’re on, whatever… we simply make it disappear .
You won’t ever know the stories about the Kardashians are there, because you won’t ever see them.
We are also working on customization to block content related to Justin Bieber.
Why? So you can see more of the real issues.
We’re Chameleon.LA and we want to make the internet a better place.
Join now for exclusive beta access to the best thing to happen to the internet since the Kardashians.
When Kard Block finally gets through development and goes live, they should win a prize from the United Nations for saving humanity. Maybe a Nobel Peace Prize?
Kard Block can’t get here soon enough.
