19-Year-Old U.S. Citizen Survives Paris Shootings And Boston Bombings, Gets Hit By Shrapnel In Brussels Attack

19-year-old Mason Wells was just one block away from the Boston Marathon bombing back in 2013, and he was in Paris and very close to the city-wide shootings back in November, 2015. The mere fact that he was on site for both of those horrifying events seems like a statistical improbability, which in and of itself is remarkable, but he was also at the Brussels Airport yesterday when the explosions occurred and I’m beginning to think that there must be a higher power at play here.

During yesterday’s airport explosions in Brussels Mason Wells suffered a ruptured achilles tendon as well as sustaining shrapnel injuries and burns. This was the THIRD terrorist attack that 19-year-old Mason Wells has lived through in the past three years, and this is a guy who was born and raised in the United States.

ABC.net reports:

Mason Wells was one of four Mormon missionaries injured in the explosions at the international airport in the Belgian capital that came shortly before a blast at a metro station.
The 19-year-old suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, shrapnel injuries and burns in the attacks, which left 34 people dead and more than 200 others injured.
“This is his third terrorist attack,” his father Chad Wells told ABC News America, adding his son stayed calm during his ordeal.
“This is the third time that sadly in our society that we have a connection to a bomb blast. We live in a dangerous world and not everyone is kind and loving.
“He shared with us that he was extremely close to the blast where he was burned by it. It’s a blessing from God he’s alive.”

I am not a religious person, but I’m comforted knowing that this dude who has lived through three terrorist attacks in three years is a religious person because I know that his faith in God will help him get through this trying time and overcome his injuries.
