Craigslist Ad Where Florida Dad Sells Son’s SUV For Being Disrespectful And Smoking Weed Goes Viral

You’ve got to give your parents respect and abide by their rules if you live under their roof. So if your dad tells you to stop smoking weed and “acting all thug,” then you should or be ready to accept the ramifications. A Florida father didn’t like his son’s behavior and asked him to remedy it. The son refused and was disrespectful to his parents so the dad sold his ride on Craigslist.

“I’ve been having some issues with my son over the past year,” Allan Gieger Jr. told CNN. “I don’t want to see him struggle the way I did.” So Gieger was forced to show his boy some tough love. The father told the son to clean up his act or he would sell his SUV that he gave him for his first car. It was not a hollow threat. Next thing the kid knows, his car was sold on Craigslist.

The dad put the 1998 Ford Explorer, which was originally given to the son for his 16th birthday present for him to drive to and from school and work, on sale on Craigslist and Facebook where it was shared over 1,500 times.

To add insult to transportation injury, the father offered interested buyers $250 off the price if the buyer lived in the area just so his son would see his former car regularly and remind him “how good he had it.”

Savage.

Apparently, the father’s tough parenting seems to be working. “It’s been an eye-opening experience,” Gieger said. “He’s started talking to me about helping him reach his new set of goals.”

So did this dad go too far?
