GoFundMe Set Up To ‘Keep Betty White Safe’ From 2016 Has Surpassed Its Crowdfunding Goal

It’s been a tough year for celebrity deaths. And with only a few days until 2017, many are hoping that the Grim Reaper takes the rest of the week off and that there are no more celebrity deaths in 2016. People are wondering who could be the next victim of 2016, and a popular name that keeps coming up is Betty White. The loveable actress turns 95-years-young in three weeks and there has been an organized effort to protect Betty White.

Demetrios Hrysikos set up a GoFundMe to keep America’s favorite quirky nana safe until the new year.

Help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White! If she’s okay with it I will fly to where ever Betty White is and keep her safe til Jan 1, 2017. Now, assuming she doesn’t want a strange Greek standing guard outside her door all monies will be donated to the Spartanburg little theater to help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left is this year.

The crowd-sourced effort has a goal of $2,000, and at the time of print, Hrysikos has raised over $2,400. The donations are said to be going to the Spartanburg Little Theater in South Carolina, which is a local youth theater company.

The GoFundMe will not protect Betty White, so maybe we should just bubblewrap her until 2017.
