Man Arrested After Cops Discover 2002 Warrant For Not Returning VHS Copy Of Worst Movie Ever

Some things will just come back to haunt a person. Even poor taste in movies.

James Meyers said he was pulled over on Tuesday morning for a broken taillight, but later learned that there was a warrant out for his arrest because he had not returned a copy of “Freddy Got Fingered” he rented in late 2001.

The 37-year-old single dad told the Daily News that cops allowed him to continue driving his daughter to school, but was later handcuffed and taken into custody when he met up with police that afternoon.

The rental store in Kannapolis, J&J’s Video, has since closed, but Meyers was still given an April 27 court date for failing to return the gross-out comedy about a cartoonist returning home to live with his parents.

First of all, if a store closes, all matters relating to that store should be tossed out. Especially a fucking video rental store. Second, you arrest the guy for a VHS tape AT HIS KID’S SCHOOL?!? Please tell me “handcuffed later” means like when he followed them to the police department even though, seriously, CUFFS??!?!

Luckily, the star of the film, Tom Green, found out about the story and he’s willing to cover court fees. He must have a Google Alert for Freddy Got Fingered set up. Just like me. How else would I have found out about this story?
