This comes from friend of the website NASA, and it was taken from a literal million miles away. That’s where the agency’s Deep Space Climate Observatory is, showing us a side of the moon that, because it’s locked in a geo-synchronous orbit with us, we never see from Earth.
Chill. The DSCOVR is way out in space to observe solar winds for the NOAA, as well as monitor large-scale events on Earth such as volcanic eruptions, to see how they affect our climate as a whole.
