Here’s How To Start A Fire By Rubbing Sticks Together — A Skill Every Bro Should Know

Chances are high that there will never be a time in your life when you need to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be prepared and have the knowledge of how to do so in case that survival situation ever pops up. The Boy Scouts of America motto is ‘Always Be Prepared’, and this is definitely one of those skills you should commit to memory if you like to get outdoors and spend time in mother nature.

What I find most interesting about this video isn’t the actual tutorial of how to start a camp fire by rubbing two sticks together, though that is quite fascinating and I’m glad I gained that there knowledge this afternoon. What’s funny is that this clip comes from the Polynesian Cultural YouTube Channel, a YT channel committed raising awareness of Polynesian culture and/or tourism by putting out short clips like this. A couple of months ago we brought you this tutorial from the Chief on how to open a coconut in the forest using your teeth, which though it’s wildly impractical of a skill it’s also equally badass. I guess I’m just easily entertained by what’s available on YouTube these days…
