I still believe in the American Dream, that everyone in our country has the opportunity to make ungodly sums of money by hard work, innovation, and winning the Powerball or Mega Millions. Below is a map from the howmuch.net (a cost information website), and on this map they’ve plotted all of the world’s billionaires. Countries that are home to many billionaires appear disproportionately larger than others with relatively few billionaires, so on this map the United States appears as the largest country in the world.
The map then goes one step further and shows how these billionaires accumulated their fortunes, whether it was through inheritance (LOL Germany, get some jobs!!!!), political influence, founding companies, or other. This is all pretty damn fascinating:
