Every now and then, an athlete comes along that defies seemingly everything we thought we knew about sports.

12-year-old Tyler Early might just be one of those athletes.

The Houston, Texas product already stands at 6-foot-2-inches tall and weighs in at 225 pounds according to Perfect Game, and over the weekend he hit one of the more incredible home runs you will ever see at the youth level.

Early, who was playing for Team Texas in the National All-Stat showcase, absolutely launched a 438-foot home that, judging by his reaction, he knew was out the second he connected with.

But that’s not all. Early is also a dominant pitcher who can already hit 84 on the radar gun.

He made his USA Baseball debut over the summer and completely dominated the competition in several appearances.

“At the World Cup Qualifier, Early started all nine games for the stars and stripes while batting .500 with six home runs and 13 RBIs,” Parker Oldham of USA Baseball reported. “In his 6.2 innings on the mound, he finished second on the team with 11 strikeouts, which propelled the United States to a gold medal finish.”

But despite his stardom, Early seemingly remains humble.

“It was fun to win two gold medals with my team. It was really a great experience. I’m glad I was able to make the team,” he told USA Baseball. “It made us compete even harder because we knew that every other team in the tournament didn’t want us to win. We were able to compete and show out for our country. I want to thank my parents for giving me the opportunity to play the sport that I love and continue my dream.”

Over the summer, two-way player Fan Chen-Jun of Chinese Taipei stole all the headlines at the Little League World Series. Now it’s Early’s time to shine in the youth baseball world.

And if it’s any indication, the future of baseball is in very, very good hands.
