Seinfeld was a series replete with iconic moments and one-liners. Every episode felt like a new cultural phenomenon. But one of those moments that has endured the test of time is ‘Elaine Benes dancing’ like a complete and utter buffoon.

The Brooklyn Cyclones who call the Coney Island Boardwalk home pay annual homage to Elaine Benes dancing like a nincompoop during their Summer ‘Seinfeld Night’ promo. This year’s Elaine Benes dancing contest was arguably the best yet.

2025 Elaine Benes Dancing Contest Was The Best Yet

The Elaine Benes dancing contest traces its roots back to Seinfeld Season 8, Episode 4 ‘The Little Kicks‘ all the way back on October 10, 1996. Nearly 30 years ago!

It was such an incredible moment in TV history that the Brooklyn Cyclones have been holding the Elaine Benes dancing contest each year now dating back to 2014 (they also had a George bobblehead night)… All because of this scene from Jerry and Larry:

Contestants stepped it up

For this year’s dancing contest, the Elaine Benes dancers/impersonators went all out. They go above and beyond every year but this year it seemed like the stakes were higher:

They picked the correct winner. That was obvious.

She nailed the zombie-esque jerking movements from Elaine Benes on the dance floor. Her dress was perfect. There was one clear winner and they chose right. Well done, Brooklyn Cyclones.
