The 49ers dominated the Jaguars on Sunday, winning 34-3 and playing well on both offense and defense.
But one thing they weren’t able to do was get star running back Christian McCaffrey a touchdown, ending his NFL record streak of 17 games in a row with a score.
After the game, McCaffrey jokingly said, “Yeah, I suck. Everyone else on the team scored except for me.”

While CMC was clearly joking, he probably really wanted to keep the streak going and was bummed he couldn’t get it done. At one point toward the end of the game, the 49ers tried to get him the ball in the endzone on 4th down from inside the redzone, but it didn’t work.
So close 😫
CMC had a TD in 17-straight games entering today, and the 49ers tried to get him the ball late in the game in the red zone to extend the streak… but couldn't make it happen.

Seventeen straight games with a touchdown is obviously a remarkable accomplishment, but the 49ers were coming off three consecutive losses and were focused on the bigger picture—securing a win.
The 6-3 49ers are next set to face the 4-5 Buccaneers on Week 11, where McCaffrey will attempt to start a new streak.
