In a Sunday Night Football showdown at Levi’s Stadium, the 49ers laid a heavy 42-10 beating on the Dallas Cowboys
For some rowdy Niners fans, the victory just wasn’t sweet enough
During the late stages of the blowout, a section of the crowd took it upon themselves to taunt the Cowboys by chanting for Trey Lance, their former 49ers quarterback who now finds himself as the third-string QB for Dallas.

Lance was the 49ers’ 3rd overall pick in the 2021 Draft, acquired after an expensive trade-up of draft picks. However, during the preseason this year, he was traded to the Cowboys in exchange for a fourth-round pick.
Since then, he’s been watching from the sidelines, as Dak Prescott’s 3rd stringer. Backup Cooper Rush, got the nod to finish out the game.

The 49ers’ decided to trade Lance after his two-year tenure was marked by injuries and inconsistent performance. Meanwhile, Brock Purdy has emerged as the new star quarterback for the franchise.
This season, Purdy has been on unstoppable, racking up an 11 total touchdowns without throwing a single interception. With his help, the 49ers boast a perfect 5-0 record and have consistently put up 30 or more points in every game.
