The 49ers made a significant investment to acquire Lance in the 2021 NFL Draft, trading three first-round picks and a third-round pick to move up to the third overall pick.
Despite this investment, it seems that the team’s plans are shifting after he only made 4 career starts for them.
Per the report, the 49ers have not yet been presented with an appealing trade deal for Lance, and they are continuing to assess potential trade scenarios.
It remains uncertain whether they will ultimately decide to part ways with the talented quarterback prospect.
The 49ers reportedly decided earlier today that they have designated Sam Darnold as QB2 for the upcoming season, behind starter Brock Purdy.
