Despite the fact that the pandemic is largely behind us and the likes of Anthony Fauci have receded back into their various medical fields, the 82-year-old doctor seemingly still occupies quite a lot of real estate in Aaron Rodgers’ mind.

After invoking Fauci’s name a few weeks ago whilst challenging Travis Kelce to a “vaccine debate” — Kelce hasn’t even bothered to publicly respond — Rodgers once again mentioned Fauci during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“Like we learned,” Rodgers said when asked if he’s ‘defying science’ during his rehab process. “If science is Dr. Fauci, you’re damn right I’m defying science.”

McAfee then touched on the seemingly habitual nature in which Rodgers brings up Fauci on his show.

“Fauci, who is just sitting at home reminiscing about his terrible opening pitch, and he’s like, ‘It’s Tuesday again?’ Great! Everyone’s gonna be reminded,” McAfee replied.

The 39-year-old Rodgers is currently rehabbing from an Achilles tear that he suffered just four snaps into his New York Jets career following an offseason of holistic healing via Ayahuasca and darkness retreats.

Following the injury, Rodgers flew cross-country to California to have it operated on by a doctor with a medical degree (Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who graduated from Notre Dame, went to medical school at the University of Pittsburgh, and is currently the team physician for both the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Dodgers).

Given how vocal Rodgers has been about his aggressive rehab and his intentions to play again this year, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not his methods actually hold up if and when he does return to the field.

As for Rodgers’ Jets, Gang Green currently sits at 3-3 as they head into their bye week following a massive Week 6 win over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles.
