Dennis “DJ” Hernandez, the older brother of late NFL player Aaron Hernandez, has been arrested after authorities expressed concern that he may have been planning school shootings at the University of Connecticut and Brown University.
According to exclusive documents obtained by TMZ Sports from the Bristol Police Department, several individuals came forward in early July, reporting D.J.’s erratic behavior and alarming text messages.
Among the concerning messages was one allegedly stating, “we’re taking lives if s*** isn’t paid up. It’s been years in planning just taking notes, names, and locations.
They talked their way into this and it’s almost point game.” These disturbing messages prompted authorities to take immediate action.
One witness, who claimed to be DJ’s ex-partner, informed police that instead of attending his scheduled court date on July 7, D.J. drove to the campuses of UConn and Brown University, entering numerous classrooms and buildings.
The same witness suggested that DJ might have traveled to these locations with the intention of planning school shootings.

Adding to the concern, police discovered threatening language on D.J.’s social media page on July 19, including a chilling post that read, “Will I kill? Absolutely, I’ve warned my enemies so pay up front.” This alarming content raised serious red flags and led to immediate police action.
On the day of his arrest, law enforcement officers surrounded a residence where D.J. was believed to be present, resulting in a tense standoff. The situation was eventually resolved with D.J. being taken into custody without further incident.
Law enforcement authorities are treating this matter with the utmost seriousness, given the sensitive nature of school shootings and the potential risks to public safety.
DJ Hernandez is now facing serious charges related to his alleged plans and threatening statements.
