It’s no secret the NFL has a problem as injuries stack up due to turf fields. Many players are requesting a ban but the league has done nothing about it so far. Now, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers calls out Commissioner Roger Goodell about the issues.
According to Ryan Wood, Rodgers officially joins the ranks of players asking for a change. There is plenty of data that proves turf fields are much more dangerous to play on. Especially considering more non-contact injuries happen on turf than on grass. So, Aaron Rodgers adds his name to the hat of athletes seeking to ban turf fields.
Aaron Rodgers lends his voice to the growing number of players requesting a ban of field turf in the NFL: “As much as I’ve enjoyed playing indoors over the years on turf, I do think it’s time to play on grass. I think you’d see less of these noncontact injuries.”

After that, Rodgers became a bit spicy, putting the NFL commissioner and the league on blast, per Ryan Wood.
Asked Aaron Rodgers if he had any real confidence the NFL will ban field turf. He made it clear: He does not.
“This would be putting money where your mouth is if the league is really interested in player safety,” he says.

This isn’t the first time Rodgers has mentioned turf fields being an issue. About a month ago the Packers star blamed turf for David Bakhtiari struggling in his return to the field on an episode of The Pat McAfee Show.

With the league continuing to get called out by the players, maybe NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell will finally do something. However, that’s up in the air, as even Aaron Rodgers doesn’t believe a change will be made anytime soon.
