Earlier this week, former NFL running Rashard Mendenhall caused a stir when he suggested that instead of the Pro Bowl, the NFL should put on an All-Black versus All-White all-star game.

Mendenhall’s tweet prompted a massive reaction from the NFL world given how frankly entertaining the thought experiment is (for example, the general consensus is that the All-White team would have a real problem fielding a defensive secondary).

“I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football. I’m better than ur goat,” the former Steelers tailback tweeted.

One person who (of course) took the opportunity to hop in on the conversation was New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who took it a step further by suggesting that Dave Chappelle host a draft to determine the teams.

“I think just off the top of my head, spitballing, we need to have a draft and it has to involve Dave Chappelle. We should have a draft because there’s a couple people that we’re not sure which team they’d be on, so we need to have a draft,” Rodgers said during his weekly appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

“That depends if you’re first pick or not. We’ll see. As we saw in the racial draft with Chappelle, it just matters where you’re picking, not who you pick. I think we should probably have some sort of draft,” he said when asked which team the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Mike McDaniel would be a part of.

Rodgers, of course, is referencing “The Racial Draft” skit that appeared in the season two premiere of Chappelle’s Show back in 2004. That skit famously had Tiger Woods selected #1 overall by the Black team, Lenny Kravitz going #2 overall to the Jewish team, the Latin team taking Elian Gonzalez with the 3rd pick, and the White team taking Colin Powell (so long as they also accepted Condoleezza Rice) with the 4th pick.
